Lifetime Products was the first company to provide a complete basketball system all in one package, and as such became a favourite amongst retailers as it allowed them to conveniently and inexpensively stock, display and sell basketball equipment. This is the reason why it has become so popular. They produce the portable residential basketball system, the in-ground residential basketball system, the bolt-down residential basketball system, the adjustable height basketball system (which can either be portable, in-ground or bolt-down) and finally several rim and backboard stationary combinations. The adjustable basketball system, known as "Quick Adjust", transformed the market and essentially made non-adjustable basketball systems obsolete in the major retail chains. Lifetime Products then became the second largest manufacturer of residential basketball systems after this success in being a market initiator.
