Boxing Tape

Boxing tape is worn under the boxing gloves and is primarily used to secure and provide extra support to the boxer's bones in the hand whilst the boxer is punching. Boxers are not allowed to fight or even wear boxing gloves without this boxing tape so the tape is an essential purchase for any boxer. Indeed, it is advised that even when sparring or training with a punching bag that boxing tape is worn as you can never be too careful. Indeed most boxing trainers will insist upon their use as it is reckless to sustain an injury just because a boxer didn't wear his under-glove boxing tape.

Adidas make a number of different boxing tapes, with their latest versions coming with their 100% soft low stretchable woven tape which uses a bout of new technology including reactive AZO free dyes. These boxing tapes have a Velcro closing to ensure they will stay wrapped up during training, sparring and during fights. These particular Adidas boxing hand wraps would set the consumer back around £4.50; however there are many other options available at a range of prices.

There are plenty of different ways you can purchase your boxing tape. There are many excellent dedicated boxing websites, such as sugarrays.co.uk, or alternatively you could go down to your local JJB or fitness centre where there'll be plenty in stock for you to choose from. It is also possible to purchase specific hand guards and knuckle guards. AMPRO make both of these and they are very high quality products, and definitely an essential purchase for the amateur and professional boxer.
