Cricket Arm Guard

Cricket arm guards form the final piece of the protective equipment available to the modern day cricket batsman. The cricket arm guard, along with the cricket gloves, cricket leg pads, cricket helmet and other additional padding such as the box form a suitable armoury when facing the speed and hard impact of the modern day bowled cricket ball. The cricket arm guard is merely a protective measure worn by some batsmen, particularly against fast bowlers which is useful if they suspect the fast bowler is trying to intimidate them with some wild body bowls. However some batsmen don’t wear the cricket arm guard all of the time, as it does restrict movement slightly due to the extra weight on the arms.

The cricket arm guard is essentially a lay of padding which sits comfortably around the batsmen's forearm, in between the cricket gloves and (if they are being worn as they are also optional) elbow pads. So whilst they are not essential, unlike cricket leg pads or the batsman’s helmet, the cricket arm guard is still a very useful piece of cricket equipment which any serious cricketer should definitely consider a worthwhile, one off purchase.

The cricket arm guard is available in all good cricket equipment stores and of course online from most reliable sports retailers. A good pair of cricket arm guards will set you back anywhere between £15 and £40 depending on the manufacturer and the specific design that you are looking for. If you are a serious batsman a cricket arm guard is an essential purchase as it will give you extra protection and therefore confidence out on the field against those fast bowlers.
